TourBoarding

We discovered TourBoarding and selected some Chinese hosts at random. Then we made friends and now (after a month spent in China) we know they’ll always be our friends, and we do hope to see them again.

Our initial goal was to visit Beijing, see the Great Wall and eat some real Chinese food, and what we actually did was far more than we’d expected.

Monica & Joy:
for introducing Beijing to us and organising our days perfectly – they were packed with experiences. We visited the most famous historical places in the capital of China, and what is more important, the less famous but even more amazing ones, too! (Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, Pipe Street, 798 Gallery, Peking Duck Restaurant – to name just a few...)
Monica and Joy are really lovely girls and they did great job being guides - wonderful help with everything. We got to know a Chinese student lifestyle and we had fun together. Unfortunately, our time was limited as their academic year started while we were there and they got back to university.

Singing & Louis:
for introducing Tianjin, preparing excellent food and taking us on different kind of excursions. We sight saw Tianjin and the surrounding area, plus, we went to the most astonishing place ever – the Underwater Great Wall. It was a farm house situated in the mountains (boat accessible only) just next to the ruins of the Great Wall, parts of which was under the water! The farmer, an elderly woman, not only cooked the most delicious food, but also prepared hot chestnuts and had us sitting around the table at night telling some Chinese legends (which would have been amazing even without our friends’ translation...)
Singing and Louis are a fantastic couple and they were like family for us; offering utterly everything. We got to know a modern Chinese young marriage lifestyle: unforgettable.

May and Len:
for offering their apartment and helping with everything in Beijing. They suggested places worth visiting and took us to a lovely traditional Beijing food restaurant. What is more, we visited Chengde – a fantastic mountain town with fantastic Mountain Resort and temples, together. We even went on a trip to grasslands of Inner Mongolia – stunning scenery and horses.
May and Len are a great couple and they were very good hosts for us; giving us freedom and offering help with whatever we needed.

All of our Chinese friends did their absolutely best to make our time unforgettable. And so it was: we had the time of our life last September in China.
TourBoarding's turned out to be a great opportunity to discover a completely different culture for us; budget travellers. Chinese Hospitality is incredible... THANK YOU.
