    Visitors to the Canton Fair 2010 who are looking for affordable hotels or housing options should search the TourBoarding site for numerous hosts living in Guangzhou who are willing to provide them free room and board in exchange for just two hours of English conversation daily. Ordinary membership is free and VIP membership only costs $25 for the whole year. The Canton Fair, also known as the China Import Export Fair will be held from October 15 to November 4, 2010. It is the largest trade fair in China and due to high attendance, many local hotels are charging top dollar for their rooms.

  • NOTICE: Foreign travelers staying with Chinese hosts must register with the local police station

    According to Chinese law governing the entry and exit of foreigners, all foreigners who stay with Chinese citizens are required to register at the local police station with their host within 24 hours, and show their passport, ID and host's householder booklet. If you stay in a rural area, you are required to complete this process within 72 hours, otherwise you may be warned or fined between RMB50 to RMB500.
